Itema is Italy's leading supplier of weaving solutions and will participate in the ITMA trade show to be held in Barcelona from June 20th to 26th. The company recently launched Itematech-a new department specializing in the production of technical textiles as a result of an agreement signed with PTMT-which will be equipped with three racks and 11 looms.

Among the seven machines on display-together with special product highlights-included two new market launches, an unprecedented weaving concept and a series of weaving novelties.

Itema airjet A9500-2 bed sheet aims to provide the most demanding bed sheet weavers with an air jet loom that can achieve the highest performance and guarantee fabric quality and design versatility. The Itema A9500-2 bed sheet will debut at ITMA 2019.

The key components of the machine, such as the main nozzle and tandem nozzle, as well as the entire pneumatic platform have been redesigned to ensure excellent performance in terms of speed, fabric quality and textile efficiency. The new release and core improvement on the A9500-2 bed sheet is the new heald frame Skyframe, made of aluminum and carbon, designed in collaboration with Itemalab and Lamiflex.

The second air-jet loom on display is A9500-2, which is the second generation of Itema's A9500 and A9500p. The company reports that thanks to the new optimized pneumatic platform, the weft insertion cycle has been improved, resulting in a faster system response when handling air load and pressure, thereby ensuring minimal vibration and higher structural reliability . The structure of the whole machine has been improved and the capacity of the gas storage tank has been increased to ensure the textile performance even at the highest speed.

The A9500-2 is equipped with a new dual-power stretching nozzle designed to ensure perfect weft connection. The Bi-Power stretching nozzle is compact, powerful and cordless. By keeping the weft thread completely straight in the fabric, it can reduce air consumption and improve fabric quality. Due to the new robot body engineering design, the front frame was lowered to improve machine accessibility, and the user experience was further optimized.

The denim rapier loom R9500-2denim will be equipped with iSaver-Itemalab's latest mechatronics technology, which can eliminate waste and warp yarns on the left side of the fabric. New innovative and cutting-edge solutions have been developed to further enhance the R9500-2denim's status as a racehorse of its kind, and will be exhibited during ITMA.

At ITMA, R9500-2denim is equipped with a further optimized weft transmission system. It is said that the iBooster kit can improve the performance of the machine without affecting the reliability. When running extremely fast, the critical rapier insertion system components will be subject to considerable pressure. Thanks to Itemalab's in-depth research on materials and close cooperation with Lamiflex, Itema has successfully developed new reinforced tapes, sprockets and miniature smart coolers to ensure extended service life.

The second-generation R9500-2 rapier loom has some key advancements, and it is now said that these advancements make this machine the most energy-efficient rapier loom on the market. The machine lubrication system and main mechanical components have been optimized to ensure a considerable reduction in energy consumption. In addition, Itema R95002 is equipped with an oil-cooled direct drive motor in its standard configuration, ensuring a dual advantage: reduced maintenance and energy saving.

R95002 has a low front frame, which makes it easy for weavers to access the machine during daily textile operations. The loom realizes complete machine control through the latest generation, high-performance, and sensitive console. Thanks to the new Itema plant management software iManager, plant managers can easily control and access machine data and statistics from a computer or portable device.

Two R9500-2s will be exhibited. The first is equipped with top fancy warp beams, weaving high-end shirt fabrics and wide jacquard looms, weaving complex fancy furniture styles. Three other R9500-2 machines will be exhibited at ITMA's Stäubli, Bonas and MEI booths.

ITMA 2019 will also be the absolute world premiere of the new Itema Discovery developed by Itemalab. According to the manufacturer, Discovery was launched as a concept on ITMA, "by establishing its operation on electromechanical principles, rather than completely redefining the basis of weaving like current looms and mechanical drives." This machine, which runs only a few times during the exhibition's daily demonstration time, will "wow knitting enthusiasts all over the world amazed."
